Rilke Path

The most panoramic view of the area where you can jog or relax watching the infinite horizon.

The Rilke Path starts less than 100 meters from our main door and its trees are adjoining our backyard area.

This is the most beautiful panoramic path in the area of Trieste. The breath-taking view meanders for 2 km along the crest between the bay of Sistiana and Duino, falling sheer into the sea. The spectacular scenery includes the gulf of Trieste, the whole coastal environment characterised by the cliffs and a particular botanic mix. Walking the path, you come across a number of look-outs and gun emplacements overlooking the sea.

The path owes its name to the Austrian poet and writer, Rainer Maria Rilke who, at the beginning of the 20th century, was a guest of Princess Marie von Thurn und Taxis-Hohenlohe in Duino Castle.
